Terms and Conditions
These terms explain how First We Listen works with clients, families, groups and organisations. Please read them before booking a session or event.
1. Who we are
First We Listen provides guidance, preparation, paperwork education, training, listening support, public speaking and advocacy-informed encouragement. We are based in Staffordshire, UK.
2. What we provide
Our work is educational and preparatory. We help people understand information, organise thoughts, prepare questions, reflect on next steps and build confidence to communicate clearly.
We may support with topics such as SEND processes, EHCPs, DLA, PIP, evidence paperwork, meetings, neurodivergence, inclusion, accessibility, communication and the LISTEN Framework.
3. What we do not provide
We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice, solicitor services, case management, litigation, tribunal representation or regulated legal services.
We are not a crisis service, regulated care provider, childcare provider, counselling service, medical service, clinical service or therapeutic service.
4. Bookings and payment
Fees, payment method, session length and any preparation included will be confirmed before booking. A booking is only confirmed when the agreed booking process has been completed.
5. Preparation and documents
If a session includes prior reading, documents must be sent by the agreed deadline. We may be unable to review late, unclear or very large amounts of information within the booked time.
6. Lateness, cancellation and rescheduling
For online sessions, we allow up to 10 minutes for lateness. Because our capacity is limited, missed sessions or late cancellations may still be charged. We will normally reschedule once without charge where reasonable notice is given.
Longer sessions, group sessions, public speaking and training may require a deposit. Deposits may be non-refundable where preparation time or reserved time has already been committed.
7. Safeguarding and confidentiality
We treat information carefully and respectfully. Confidentiality is not absolute. If we believe someone may be at risk of harm, we may need to share relevant information with an appropriate safeguarding or emergency service.
8. Outcomes
We cannot guarantee a particular decision, award, assessment outcome, school response, local authority response or benefit result. Our role is to help you understand, prepare and communicate more clearly.
